Workshop in Organisational and Financial Sustainability

When an organisation starts a new pathway alongside its existing work, it is essential to ensure that it is prepared for success in its efforts. The skilling and preparatory processes are divided into 2 sets of workshops with exercises between workshops:

This first 2-day workshop focuses on:

  • Laying the foundations - Building consensus on organisational, managerial, technical and financial sustainability;
  • Assessment of readiness through examining organisational and managerial practices;
  • Leadership for sustainability;
  • Managing Change.
To support organisations to enhance processes and manage change, it is recommended that at least two (2) people per organisation attend (3 is preferable). This is a participatory learning experience where organisations apply their learning through planning processes in the workshop.

Dates: 27 and 28 October 2014

Venue: Old Mutual Guest House & Conference Centre
No 33 Klaassens Road
Upper Constantia, Cape Town

Times: 8h30 to 4h30

Arrangements for the second workshop will be made with participants at the first one.

Participants will be given Case Studies at the workshop which show real life examples of development organisations that have become financially sustainable. These have been written into a workbook which enables organisations to reflect on internal and external factors which strengthen and allow for building sustainability. With the exposure to a range of potential methods and opportunities, organisations are able to consider possible income generating ideas.
