Siyakhula Trust: Community Facilitation Programme
Siyakhula Trust is a NGO that assists community leaders, CBOs, NPOs and government officials develop skills so that they can efficiently initiate and manage development and job creation projects to the benefit of the communities they serve. Siyakhula Trust is conducting its practical Community Facilitation Programme in two different centres in South Africa in the months to come.
The course is aimed at enabling managers and officers working in government departments, national agencies and NPOs who work with communities and projects, to effectively participate in initiating, supporting and managing those projects to ensure a successful outcome. This course can be held exclusively as an in-house option for your organisation.

- Understanding the dynamics of change and implications for community projects
- Analysing the community situation
- Problem solving and risk analysis
- Consulting with relevant community stakeholders
- Scoping the project
- Producing a project plan
- Selecting and using project tools
- Preparing a project budget
- Managing the project
- Conducting community project meetings
- Establishing controls, monitoring and evaluation techniques
- Wrapping up the project
- Consulting with sponsors or agencies
- Evaluating the progress of the project
- Preparation and submission of project reports
