The South African Institute for Traumatic Stress (SAITS) is conducting a four-month training course starting 13 August 2009 in Johannesburg, ending 28 November 2009 (4 months - four blocks of three days each + three supervision sessions)

The course is aimed at increasing professional knowledge on trauma, post-traumatic stress and associated topics, increasing clinical skills for treating survivors of trauma, increasing self-care skills in ongoing trauma work, providing practical exposure and supervision in a diversity of therapeutic techniques. The course is for mental health workers, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and registered counsellors who provide counselling and treatment to trauma survivors.
