Roundtable of the Human Rights and Business Project South Africa

The African Institute of Corporate Citizenship (AICC), a NGO that aims to facilitate the competitiveness of countries, companies, and communities through responsible business activity, is hosting a Roundtable of the Human Rights and Business Project South Africa on 9 June 2009 in Johannesburg.

The objective for the meeting is to discuss developments in the realm of human rights and business both locally and internationally and to review progress regarding the South African project.

Key sessions will include:

• Feedback on key international initiatives
• Feedback from the South African project organisation regarding the Human Rights and Business project supported by the project trajectories funds.
• Review of the work by the Special Adviser on Business and Human Rights to the UN Secretary General (Prof John Ruggie), and the issue of complicity by companies and the report by the International Commission of Jurists.
