INTRAC: Introduction to Monitoring and Evaluation

INTRAC: Introduction to Monitoring and Evaluation

The International NGO Training and Research Centre (INTRAC) is a NGO that supports CSOs around the world by helping to explore policy issues, and by strengthening management and organisational effectiveness.

INTRAC is conducting a five-day course on Introduction to Monitoring and Evaluation from 20-24 April 2009 in Oxford.

The course is essential in providing greater accountability for CSOs; it can also provide unique information about the performance of policies, programmes and projects. • Discuss the evolution of approaches to M&E and the reasons for the emergence of participatory methods
  • Look at the different information requirements of a range of stakeholders and how to involve them
  • Examine participatory approaches to M&E, and which participatory tools to use in different circumstances
  • Explore the contributions of other stakeholder perceptions and realities
  • Identify issues around impact assessment and the monitoring and evaluation of intangibles
  • Explore ways of ensuring institutional learning
