Elections 2009: What’s in it for the Eastern Cape?

Monday, March 23, 2009 - 20:10

Afesis-corplan is hosting its first quarter seminar on Elections 2009: What’s in it for the Eastern Cape? on 27 March 2009 in East London.

The newly appointed Premier of the Eastern Cape in his first address noted that health, education, local government, rural development and public service accountability were priorities for the province.

In the dawn of elections, the seminar will consider the views of political parties on the following development priorities:

  • The rural – urban divide in the Eastern Cape
  • Unemployment, crime and poverty in the Eastern Cape
  • Health, Education and Local Governance
  • Corruption in the public service

Afesis Corplan hopes that this event will spark constructive debate on the likely impact of the upcoming elections on the development of the Eastern Cape.
