Big Fish School of Digital Filmmaking is an accredited Film & TV School that provides cutting edge, groundbreaking training interventions to address skills shortages in South Africa and to give talented young people, access to training and employment in the film and television industry.

Big Fish School of Digital Filmmaking is conducting a short course on Film and Television Production from 29 June to 3 July 2009 in Johannesburg.

The course is open to intermediate level participants who have worked for at least one year in the Film & TV industry, including commercials, who are keen to develop their skills in all aspects of production / line-producing.

Course outline:

This five day short course in Film & TV Production will take place at the Big Fish School of Digital Filmmaking in Gauteng and will encompass:

  • Pre, Production and Post
  • Roles and responsibilities
  • Legal aspects
  • Script breakdown and logistics for both fiction and non-fiction
  • Budgets

Minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12, with a minimum of one year experience in production
  • Computer literacy:  Word, Excel etc.
  • Ability to apply oneself to rigorous daily study and daily delivery of written assignments.

Application procedure:

  • Submission of a typed CV or Resume
  • Two letters of support from educational institution or former or current employers
  • Proof of SA Citizenship or valid SA permanent residence.
