|The last few years has seen a wave of momentum around the asset-based approach to stimulating social and economic change in South African communities.
This international certificate programme is an opportunity to learn principles, tools, and case studies to shift your organisation’s focus – from community needs and problems to one that understands and recognises the assets, strengths and opportunities within that community.
Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) is an approach that focuses on the resources and strengths of communities, rather than needs and deficiencies.
The Coady Institute is an international leader in ABCD, and its frameworks and tools are widely used to help communities mobilise and build on their assets for sustainable development.
- Understand the core principles that differentiate citizen-driven development;
- Adapt and apply tools for communities to identify and mobilise their own assets;
- Identify ways in which the principles and tools of asset-based and citizen-driven development can be applied in your communities or organisations.
