Adult Learning Network: 2010 Adult Leaner’s Week Conference

The Adult Learning Network (LAN) South Africa, together with its partners, annually hosts the national conference and awards ceremony, to recognise the achievements of adult learners in their diversity.

The theme of the 2010 Adult Leaner’s Week (ALW) conference is ‘Quality Adult Learning in Context’. It takes place at the Eskom Convention Centre in Halfway House, Johannesburg from 2-3 September 2010 followed by an awards ceremony on 4 September 2010 at the same venue.

The event is an opportunity for key players in government, business and civil society to actively engage in current policy developments with specific reference to post-school education and training system as announced by the Minister of Higher Education and Training.

Conference delegates will get first-hand information on the Framework for the National Skills Development Strategy (NSDS III): 2011/12 – 2015/16. The conference will also feature well respected local experts on adult learning and post-school education training. A registration fee of R1 000 will be payable which includes the conference and the awards ceremony. It is essential for all interested parties to register. Registration forms are obtainable from the ALN Head Office.
