The first Southern African Communication for Change Conference is fast approaching. This three day conference will bring together communication practitioners to share experience and learn from each other to impact on transformative change.

 “Our vision is to build a community of practice with people from civil society, funders, NGOs, government and the advertising and creative industries who have a shared understanding of the value of communication. We want to have the capability and strength to use communication to bring leadership and innovation to transformation.” - Ms Bronwyn Pearce, the conference Chairperson and CEO for the Centre for Communication Impact.

Conference Tracks          
Track 1: What works
Effective communication campaigns that have succeeded in achieving transformative change through shifting norms, changing behaviours, enhancing community activism and engagement and amplifying voices will be explored

Track 2: Building evidence, Research for Communication
New and emerging trends in communication for change are explored through evidence-based methodologies and creative programme and content design.
Track 3: Being digital
Case studies will offer conference participants insights on digital platforms and mobile technologies that can dynamically build communities, talk to individuals and influence the transformation agenda.

Track 4: How the other half lives: What we can learn from the private sector
Creatives behind brands such as Nedbank, SABMiller, Chicken Licken, Jet and YFM will be discussing the challenges of being a marketer.
Track 5: Mass media to Hyper local: building effective hyper-local campaigns
Conference participants will be shown how to craft successful localized campaigns and how to utilize community-based brand ambassadors
