The Child Trauma Conference 

The Child Trauma Conference has been one of the leading conferences in South Africa to address child trauma and abuse, and brings together clinicians, researchers, policy makers, media and members of the community in the promotion of child protection.

Jelly Beanz Inc is a nonprofit organisation which deals with children and families who have experienced trauma and abuse. Jelly Beanz Inc offers direct services to children and families, develops resources to support assessment and interventions, offers training and mentorship to professionals working with children, and advocates for service delivery to children who have suffered trauma and abuse.
 
One in three South African children experience sexual abuse, 2.1 million children are orphaned due to AIDS and South Africa has the highest rate of baby killings in the world.

The 10th annual Child Trauma Conference is endorsed by The International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN), Childline, Matla Abana and the Teddy Bear Clinic.

  • Child sexual abuse (prevention, intervention, treatment and treads including e.g child-on child abuse, pornography and its impact, therapy programmes)
  • Intersectoral approaches to child abuse, neglect and attachment (from birth to adulthood, attachment-based therapies for families at risk, attachment work with children who come into conflict with the law)
