The Southern Africa Institute of Fundraising
The Southern Africa Institute of Fundraising (SAIF) was conceptualised in 1985 by a group of five concerned fundraisers who felt the need for an organisation which would effectively promote and uplift the fundraising profession. After numerous informal meetings and long after hour telephone conversations a Constitution was signed in November 1987 and SAIF was launched as a voluntary association.
SAIF is hosting a Lunchtime Session with former Cape Town City Councillor, Alderman Owen Kinahan on 18 February 2016.
A successful fundraiser before entering local politics, Kinahan has spent the last two disentangling himself from many organisations that he served - some of which for more than 20 years.
Share tips from his experiences, from a donor perspective, of efficiency and sound donor relations and, alarmingly, of his shocking encounters with some (whom he no longer supports).
Cost: R80 for members and R100 for non-members. Please let SAIF know if you have any special dietary requirements (tea and coffee will be available of cash basis)
Third Thursdays is an initiative of the Western Cape branch of the Southern Africa Institute of Fundraising
