Ted Hart is the Chief Executive Officer of Hart Philanthropic Services Group (tedhart.com) and P2PFundraising, and Founder and CEO at GreenNonprofits.org.

He is sought after internationally as an inspirational and practical speaker and consultant on topics related to nonprofit strategy, and board and volunteer development, both online and offline.

Ted Hart will present the keynote speech during the opening plenary session on 1 September 2010 in Johannesburg, focusing on “Navigating through the present and into the future: Fundraising 2”.

He will also present a full-day workshop on “Online Fundraising Success and Social Networking” on day 2 of the conference in Johannesburg (2 September 2010) and on 3 September 2010 in Durban and 6 September in Cape Town.

About Ted Hart

Ted Hart has inspired the creation of People to People Fundraising, a movement housed online at http://www.p2pfundraising.org. He is also Founder of the international ePhilanthropy Foundation, the global leader in providing training to charities for the ethical and efficient use of the Internet for philanthropic purposes through education and advocacy. He has also taken a leadership role in helping nonprofits become more green by founding the http://www.greennonprofits.org movement.

Ted Hart has served as CEO of the University Maryland Medical System Foundation, and before that as Chief Development Officer for Johns Hopkins Medical Center - Bayview Campus. He was one of the youngest professionals ever to be certified as an Advanced Certified Fund Raising Executive (ACFRE) by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). Less than 100 people around the world hold this certification. He has presented more than 20 workshops at international fundraising conferences hosted by AFP since 1990.

Hart has served on the AFP International Board of Directors, prior to that he served as the AFP Foundation Board Treasurer. He is Past President of the AFP-Maryland Chapter. Hart was chosen to attend the 1996 Executive Leadership Institute (ELI), and in 2000 the Faculty Training Academy. Mr. Hart serves as a national member to the Giving USA Advisory Council at the Center on Philanthropy, the foremost authority on fundraising and philanthropy data in the United States.

He is author to several published articles, a contributing author to Achieving Excellence in Fund Raising Second Edition, editor and author of the books, “Major Donors - Finding Big Gifts In Your Database and Online”, “Nonprofit Internet Strategies Best Practices for Marketing, Communications and Fundraising Success” Fundraising On The Internet: The ePhilanthropy Foundation.Org’s Guide To Success Online, People to People Fundraising: Social Networking and Web 2.0 for Charities. The Nonprofit Guide To Going Green and his most recent book, Nonprofit Internet Management. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member to the Master of Science in Fundraising Management program at Columbia University (NYC).

Ted Hart is an Eagle Scout with Bronze Palm. He resides in the Washington, DC area. He lives with his daughter Sarah Grace and son Alexander Michael.
