NGO Web Awards
The Southern African NGO Network (SANGONeT) invites entries for the 2010 South African NGO Web Awards. Now in its fifth year, the competition continues to raise awareness about the benefits of having a web presence among South African NGOs.
In line with this year's conference theme – “Fundraising in a Digital World”, SANGONeT invites entries for the 2010 NGO Web Awards for two categories:
- Best Use of Website for Online Fundraising
- Best Use of Mobile Technology for Fundraising
The winners will be announced at the SANGONeT Conference on 1 September 2010 in Johannesburg.
The conference focuses on how NGOs are raising money through the Internet, mobile phones and other online applications. Internationally acclaimed inspirational and practical speaker, Ted Hart, renowned for his expertise in both online and traditional fundraising, will be the keynote speaker at the conference.
Prizes
There are 3 prizes to the value of R10 000 each, sponsored by Torque IT.
Eligibility
The competition is open to South African NGOs with a website.
Organisations must be able to demonstrate their non-profit status and involvement in development work in South Africa. The 2008 and 2009 winners are not eligible to enter.

Judging Process
Entries will be judged by a panel of independent Internet and development experts. The judges will only consider information that is supplied in the entry form provided and applicants are requested to adhere to the word limits. Judges may visit project websites or request further information to assist in the final decision.
The judges' decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
By entering the competition all applicants permit SANGONeT to use information from the entry forms to produce publicity materials for the awards and case studies for promotion of best practice.
