SADC Lawyers Association: Programmes Officer

The Southern African Development Community Lawyers Association (SADC LA) is an independent voluntary association made up of Law Societies and Bar Associations of the SADC region. The SADC Lawyers Association strives to uphold human rights, the respect for the rule of law, promote and support for the independence of the judiciary and protection of fundamental liberties.

The SADC Lawyers Association seeks to appoint a Programmes Officer, based in Pretoria.

Responsibilities:

ISLA: Lawyer/Senior Lawyer

The Initiative for Strategic Litigation in Africa (ISLA) is based on the belief that strategic litigation is an immensely strong tool for social change because it helps to reframe the understanding of entitlements before the law and it challenges the legal discourse on women’s rights and sexual rights. ISLA stands for the proposition that investment in local institutions and individuals is key to maximising the impact of strategic litigation.

ISLA seeks to appoint Lawyer/Senior Lawyer, based in Johannesburg.

Southern Africa Litigation Centre: Project Lawyer - Women's Land & Property Rights

The Southern Africa Litigation Centre (SALC) promotes and advances human rights and the rule of law in southern Africa, primarily through strategic litigation support and capacity building. SALC works in Angola, Botswana, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe. 

Southern Africa Litigation Centre: Project Lawyer - HIV Programme

The Southern Africa Litigation Centre (SALC) promotes and advances human rights and the rule of law in southern Africa, primarily through strategic litigation support and capacity building. SALC works in Angola, Botswana, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe. 

Southern Africa Litigation Centre: Project Lawyer - Regional Advocacy Programme

The Southern Africa Litigation Centre (SALC) promotes and advances human rights and the rule of law in southern Africa, primarily through strategic litigation support and capacity building. SALC works in Angola, Botswana, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe. 

SADC Lawyers Association: Programmes Officer

The SADC Lawyers’ Association (SADC-LA) was established in 1999 as a voluntary association made up of law societies, bar associations and individual lawyers from the 15 member states of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) sub-region.  As such, it is the authoritative and representative voice of the collective organised legal profession in Southern Africa.
 
The SADC-LA seeks to appoint a Programmes Officer, based in Pretoria.
