SANAC: Communications Coordinator

The South African National AIDS Council (SANAC) leads South Africa’s response to the national HIV and AIDS, TB & STIs epidemics. SANAC is building a dynamic team that can facilitate its effective leadership of the national response.

SANAC seeks to appoint a Communications Coordinator, based in their Pretoria office.

This is a three year performance-based contract, renewable subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds.

Responsibilities:

Fikelela Children Centre: Senior Child and Youth Care Worker

Fikelela means ‘reach out’ in Xhosa and is an HIV/ AIDS outreach programme of the Anglican Diocese of Cape Town. Fikelela was founded in 200 with the vision of providing an active Christian response to HIV/ AIDS pandemic in South Africa. The vision of Fikelela is to mobilise the Anglican community to make a sustained positive contribution to the reduction of the number of new infections and to drive HIV/AIDS education and care, in partnership with others.

Paediatric AIDS Treatment for Africa: Programme Manager

Paediatric AIDS Treatment for Africa (PATA) is a South-African non-governmental organisation (NGO) that aims to promote and faciliate improved access to high-quality holistic care for HIV-infected children, their families and communities across sub-Saharan Africa. PATA works collaboratively with 258 paediatric HIV clinics across 24 sub-Saharan African countries, providing various programmes and serving as a resource to support achievement of their stated goals.

I ACT - Countering Misconceptions About HIV

The overall goal of the Integrated Access to Care and Treatment (I ACT) is 'to promote early recruitment and retention of people living with HIV into care and support programmes. I ACT strives to improve the uptake of Pre-ART Care in Health Facilities and HIV Counselling and Testing (HCT) opportunities.'

HEARD: Research Internship

Health Economic and HIV/AIDS Research Division (HEARD) is a self-funded, applied research unit based at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban. HEARD conducts a range of research-from pure to applied- seeking to support all those intent on designing interventions to reduce the HIV pandemic in all sectors  in  the  SADC and East Africa region. Its research agenda is driven by current issues and is aimed at producing knowledge and evidence critical to informed policies and actions.
