CBS’s CSI Prioritises Education and Health

The Central Bank of Swaziland (CBS) has once again extended a helping to the country’s most needy by donating money to eight organisations.
 
The presentation of an amount of E165 000 was made by CBS Governor, Majozi Sithole, who in his remarks emphasised that their corporate social investment programme mainly focused on community and health care programmes as well as education.
 

NGO Gives Prosthetic Limbs to the Poor

Mobility 4 Life, a non-governmental organisation, is changing lives by giving prosthetic limbs to amputees from rural and poor areas.

The organisation estimates that there are 25 000 who cannot access prostheses because of issues such as long waiting lists at private or public hospitals where the services are usually provided.

It says with money collected from corporate social investment initiatives, the organisation hopes to assist more people who do not have the means to access even the most basic of primary healthcare.

BFC Donates £120k to Mandela Foundation

The Brazilian Football Confederation (BFC) has donated £120 000 to the Nelson Mandela Foundation to preserve Madiba's legacy.
 
The BFC donated income they received from match against South Africa towards its work in the promotion of social justice and democracy, both locally and internationally.
 
The Foundation spokesperson, Sello Hatang, says the donation will be used for projects and the digitization of papers.
 

Working Hand in Hand for Food Security in Soweto

Development organisation Humana People to People in South Africa has partnered with Pretoria Portland Cement (PPC) in efforts to work together with the people in Doornkop, Soweto to improve their food security.  

For the past decade Humana’s Child Aid Doornkop project has worked side by side with community members to start vegetable gardens and the donation made by PPC makes it possible to continue this development at a new level.
