Heinrich Böll Foundation: Project Officer

The Heinrich Böll Foundation (HBF) has been active in Southern Africa since 1989. For many organisations and individuals, it has become a partner for civic education and formation of networks, provider of international contacts, observer and analyst in the region.

The HPF seeks to appoint a Project Officer for its Climate Governance in Africa (CGA) project, based in Cape Town.

Impact of US Elections on Climate Pact

Climate negotiators started work Monday on implementing the Paris Agreement on global warming amid uncertainty over how the US election will impact the landmark deal as temperatures and greenhouse gases soar to new heights.

UN climate chief Patricia Espinosa told delegates in the rain-soaked Moroccan city of Marrakesh that "no politician or citizen, no business manager or investor" can doubt that the world is determined to shift toward a "low-emission, resilient society".

​Angola to Ratify Paris Climate Agreement

Angolan Environment Minister, Fátima Jardim, assured the United Nations Headquarters the country's availability to ratify Paris Climate Agreement approved by 195 countries last December.

The leadership of Angola, in its capacity as chair of the Least Developed Countries, is decisive to ensure negotiation on Climate agreement.

Under the Climate agreement, all countries in the world are required to adopt measures to keep global temperature rise below 2 degrees Celsius from the pre-industrial times and making effort to maintain it less than 1.5 ° C.
