World AIDS Day

World AIDS Day is commemorated each year on the 1st of December and is an opportunity for every community to unite in the fight against HIV, show support for people living with HIV and remember those who have died.
 
The UNAIDS World AIDS Day theme for 2011 to 2015 is: “Getting to Zero”. This year, South Africa will focus on 'Zero Discrimination', without losing sight of the other ‘zeroes’; zero new HIV infections and zero AIDS related deaths. We call on all South Africans to join our Zero Stigma, Zero Discrimination campaign for World AIDS Day 2016.

HIV Vaccine Trial in SA

A new clinical trial is underway in South Africa on an experimental vaccine that could safely prevent HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.

According to a statement from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the HVTN 702 is the largest and most advanced HIV vaccine clinical trial to be undertaken in South Africa, where some seven million people are living with the virus.

AIDS Foundation of South Africa: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

The AIDS Foundation of South Africa (AFSA) is a well-respected NGO that acts as an interface between donors and Community Based Organisations (CBO’s) working in the HIV/AIDS sector by placing donor funds with strategically selected CBOs and providing them with ongoing management, technical support and capacity building. 

AFSA seeks to appoint Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer, based at its offices in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal - only applicants based in KZN will be considered.
