WaterAid is looking for an energetic funding/business development coordinator to help us secure significant multi-year funding from a diverse portfolio of institutional and private donors and through the WaterAid Federation. The coordinator will help the Regional Funding Manager (Southern Africa) based in Lusaka, to cultivate donors and strategic partnerships in the region, as well as leveraging support and funding from the various WaterAid affiliate member offices.
We are looking for a motivated, driven and experienced Resource Developer / Fundraiser who has a passion for social justice with a strong willingness to contribute towards positive impact in our organisation. The purpose of this role is to raise and secure funds for Common Good’s work across each initiative, giving strategic input into the overall fundraising plan, executing the fundraising plan, developing and nurturing institutional and individual donor relationships, identifying and cultivating prospective donors, and regularly meeting or surpassing fundraising targets.
Many South Africans are using their participation in sporting activities from running marathons to climbing mountains to raise awareness and funds for social causes and to make a difference in society. Supported by the reach and popularity of social media as well as crowdfunding platforms, these initiatives have the increased potential to influence meaningful change.
