It is critical that we as South Africans do whatever possible to force the Egyptians to open the Rafah crossing for the people of Gaza to obtain medical supplies and other necessities. Please join the demonstration calling for this at the Egyptian Embassy on Friday starting at 2:00pm and add your voice to the struggle of the Palestinians. Posters and placards available at the demo. When asked what my motivation is for participating in extreme desert running events since 2010, my answer is two-fold. Yes, there is the personal challenge and satisfaction of completing these races. But the main reason for my participation is to raise money, support and awareness for NGOs and social causes at the forefront of addressing Africa’s development challenges.

The Rape Crisis Cape Town Trust is a social profit organisation that promotes an end to violence against women, specifically rape, and assists women to achieve their right to live free of violence by reducing the trauma experienced by rape survivors, encouraging reporting of rape incidents, facilitating the active engagement of communities in challenging high rape rates and advocating for law reform and a stronger criminal justice system.

Embassy of France in South Africa - Civil Society Development Fund

New Publication on the Sustainability of South African Civil Society

In spite of an enlightened Constitution, discrimination and inequity still abound in South Africa.
