In many suburbs of Nairobi, a thriving industry for the last ten years has been university students and graduates doing assignments for their counterparts in North American and European universities. Here, students have established thriving careers that involve researching on subjects that they care little about and writing term papers, assignments and even projects for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The fact that the trade has been growing year after year is a pointer that these graduates are offering quality work.

MTN contributed to human rights violations in Sudan, say 23 civil society groups

MTN Sudan has been implicated in human rights violation though the persistent internet shutdowns for more than five weeks in Sudan. Meanwhile shutdowns disrupt the free flow of information and create a cover of darkness that allows repression to occur without scrutiny. In the wake of this violence, MTN Sudan and other telecommunications companies blocked access to the internet through disruption of various local and roaming cellular data networks, as well as some fixed-line services, presumably in response to demands of the TMC.

Digital technologies are transforming African businesses

New opportunities for business have been created by the digital technology in Africa. This enables African business to compete on a more equal footing with global businesses. In Ghana, digital technologies have had an impact on the agriculture sector. This sector has managed to pursue the creation of new business ventures and renewal of existing, matured corporate business models.
