Ithemba Lobomi: HR Assistant

Ithemba Lobomi is a nonprofit organisation based in the community of Thembalethu in George in the Southern Western Cape. The organisation was founded in 2007 in order to tackle the high rate of HIV. AIDS and TB within the community and to alleviate the impact of the burden of disease faced by the families and by the health and social services.

Ithemba Lobomi seeks to appoint a HR Assistant (Internal/External Vacancy) to be based in George.

Responsibilities:

LvA: Social Worker

Lawyers against Abuse (LvA) is an NGO based in Diepsloot, an informal settlement in northern Johannesburg. They provide integrated direct legal and psychosocial services to victims of gender-based violence (GBV), which includes sexual violence, domestic violence and child abuse. LvA also works closely with local state actors and other community-based organisations to address broader systemic issues that lead to violence and allow it to persist.

LvA seeks to appoint a Social Worker based in Diepsloot, Johannesburg.

SEA: Advisor

Sustainable Energy Africa (SEA) promotes equitable, low carbon, clean energy development in urban South Africa and Africa. They do this through research, capacity building, policy engagement and information dissemination.

SEA seeks to appoint an Advisor to be based in Cape Town.

Room to Read is a child-safe organization that seeks to transform the lives of millions of children in developing countries by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. Working in collaboration with local communities, partner organizations and governments, we develop literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children, and support girls to complete secondary school with the relevant life skills to succeed in school and beyond.

SmartStart: Parenting Support Strategy Developer

SmartStart is a social franchise which aims to expand access to quality, affordable early learning opportunities for young children in South Africa, starting with the poorest 40%. Within ten years, it aims to be reaching one million 3 and 4 year old children per year. Currently less than half of South Africa’s 3 and 4 year olds are exposed to quality early learning outside the home. SmartStart is driving a country-wide network of licensed facilitators equipped to implement a high-quality, standardised early learning programme.
