NANGO Board Members Resign

Two NANGO board members resign, amidst allegations of abuse of authority against management of the NGOs' umbrella body

Tichaona Masiyambiri and Sydney Chisi resign from the National Association of Non-Governmental Organisations (NANGOs) board accusing the organisation's chairperson, Paul Juru, and chief executive officer, Cephas Zinhumwe of dictatorial tendencies.

Masiyambiri who was the board secretary and NANGO Northern Region Youth representative states that, “It is with a heavy heart that I write to notify colleagues that in the spirit of representative democracy, which has ceased to exist at Nango where decisions have largely been a preserve for Mr Cephas Zinhumwe and Paul Juru alone, I have been left with no option but to resign."

He alleged that the board had become ‘ceremonial’ where no alternative views were tolerated.
