What colour should I paint my nails today?
Okay, my daily challenge (well maybe not always daily) is what colour I should paint my nails. Its real, its a challenge.... Marrakech Orange, Tahiti Cyan, Oxfam Green, or The New Black – Black?
Then I bundle into a small room with about 14 other people who all do work around HIV and AIDS and some smarty pants asks us to think about our main challenges (then qualifies the question – WORK challenges) and pow… I’m struck by the insignificance of my colour conundrum. I didn’t offer to go first – thank the gods for that. Here is why. Other than nail colour here are just some of the challenges my fellow ‘bundled into room’ people shared:
- Why people won’t change even when they speak the speak of change?
- What to do about absolutely no rain?
- Why do you get thrown out of windows in high rise buildings just because you are foreign?
- How to stop people selling their antiretroviral medication?
- Will men ever change (hmmm?)
And I am going to stop there – I have chipped a nail typing this. But have a think about your own private challenges, will you? I think I’m going to get some nail polish remover quickly and let the issue go.
