In 2012 we introduced a "NGO Profiles" feature on the NGO Pulse Portal in conjunction with our annual “No Pain No Gain” fundraising and awareness-raising campaign.
In addition to our ongoing work in highlighting the activities of NGOs in South Africa through the NGO Pulse Portal, Prodder NGO Directory and other online platforms, the aims of the profiles are to highlight the activities of individual NGOs, the challenges and opportunities they face, and their achievements and impact on our society.
However, as much as the publishing of NGO profiles on the NGO Pulse Portal is an ongoing activity, we want to use June 2013 as a period of intensive coverage of the work of NGOs in South Africa.
We are therefore inviting NGOs throughout South Africa to share with us their profiles. There is no limit to the number of profiles which we will publish, and every profile will receive the necessary coverage and exposure on the NGO Pulse Portal.
If interested in this opportunity, we need a short article / "human interest story" about your organisation (800 - 1200 words) which covers the following issues:
- History / year established
- Mission / vision
- Main activities and services - projects / programmes / events, etc.
- Challenges / opportunities
- Impact / contribution to society
- Contact information / key contact people (including your website and social media details)
Please forward your profile and logo to Phumla Mhlanga at SANGONeT on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Your profile will be published on the NGO Pulse Portal (receiving more than 100 000 unique visitors per month), highlighted in the weekly NGO Pulse e-newsletter (distributed to more than 43 000 subscribers) and promoted through SANGONeT's social media channels on Twitter and Facebook.
Refer to http://www.ngopulse.org/npng/profiles to view the NGOs which have been profiled in the past.
We look forward to receiving and publishing your inspiring stories.
