Two new facilities will be opening in the Western Cape (Paarl and Wynberg South African Police Service offices). One facility will be opening at the GT Provincial Task team office. This unit was responsible for the investigation of an international child pornography ring and the arrest of six people in South Africa. MAB also provided support for this investigation. This brings a total 21 facilities implemented by MAB costing between R20 000 - R120 000 per facility.
During the last year more than 1 500 comfort packs have been donated to child abuse victims. MAB GT hosted various training courses for Child Protection Detectives, including the investigation of serial rape cases.
