Commissioned by People Opposing Women Abuse (POWA), and funded by the Henrich BÖll Foundation, the aim of this research project is to determine critical success factors and challenges of the operations of both the state and non-state actors towards survivors of gender-based violence. Edited by Nonhlanhla Sibanda, the main focus of the study is to provide a critical analysis of women’s experiences of the Criminal Justice System as well as POWA’s work in this regard.
For POWA, the study was used as a tool to identify and understand the strengths and weaknesses of the organisation in responding to violence against women.
