According to researchers from the University of California, open-plan office design have resulted a new phenomenon called “workplace induced attention deficit disorder.”
The study conducted by these researchers revealed that interruptions such as Email arriving in an in-box, telephones ringing and cellphones beeping regularly disrupt the working day. The researchers estimate that on a normal working day, the average worker is disrupted every 11 minutes.
