TechSoup Global: Looking Ahead
Friday, October 7, 2011 - 11:00
For 24 years, we have been working to build multiple networks. These networks includes organisations that need technology support, corporations that are eager to donate their products, funders that are interested in building the capacity of civil society, activists and volunteers that are willing to donate their time and expertise. In the last six years, we have built two formal networks of civil society contributors: one that delivers technology capacity through donated products and expertise and another that increases capacity by building connections and community. Now, we feel we’ve reached a critical point - a place where our reach, our programmes, our partners and our contributors can come together to develop and deliver solutions to the entire NGO sector.
TechSoup Global continues to use its technology expertise and expansive global network http://www.techsoupglobal.org/countries to support social change around the world. Our 2011 Global Contributors’ Summit hosted more than 200 participants from 36 countries and represented our partner NGOs, funders, corporate tech donors, and intermediaries. It presented an opportunity for members of the TechSoup Global Network to collaborate with major United States foundations, technology corporations, and each other on the deployment of technology - including TechSoup Global’s cloud computing programme - to facilitate local and global social change. We have also developed and launched our directed product philanthropy capability services that can be deployed to a specific population anywhere in the world. This is expected to lead to an increase in targeted packaged services, including those supporting disaster reconstruction efforts.
To help the TechSoup Global continue changing lives through technology, donate to the SANGONeT “No Pain No Gain” campaign today, by making a donation at www.givengain.com/activist/55367/projects/1333.
