CAFSA, 8 July 2004
Charities Aid Foundation, Southern Africa (CAFSA) will develop a ‘Code of Good Governance’following its successful Governance and Accountability Conference in Johannesburg last month. Conference delegates representing the international and local funding community and non-profit organisations from Namibia, Mozambique, Malawi and Zambia, emphasised the need for a coherent governance framework for the sector.
The Executive Director of CAFSA, Eugene Saldana said, “the conference was the first step of a research initiative which aims to develop a Code of Good Governance. We are keen to see the sector take the lead in developing a framework so that it can strengthen sustainability as well as continue to protect its independence.”
