According to Terry Axelrod, author of The Joy of Fundraising, donors give to your organisation because they believe you are making a difference in a cause they care about. Axelro argues that donors value your organisation’s work and want to support you in changing the world. He notes that their gifts are investments in the work they expect you to accomplish. In addition, he points out that organisations should tell their supporters, in person if they can, or through newsletters, email, and phone calls, how someone's life was changed by the programmes they made possible.
