​R350m to Alleviate Sanitation, Drought

The Department of Water and Sanitation allocates R350 million to the Ngaka Modiri Molema District to alleviate sanitation and drought-induced problems

R350 million has been allocated by the Department of Water and Sanitation to the Ngaka Modiri Molema District in the North West to alleviate sanitation and drought-induced problems.
 
The department is providing urgent relief to the Tswaing Local Municipality which has been relying heavily on underground water supply.
 
In recent months, due to drought and water shortages experienced in the area and small scale farmers have been forced to sell their livestock.
